Internship Program

Café Momentum Pittsburgh is a workforce development program dedicated to equipping young people with the skills, support and opportunities they need to succeed. Serving youth ages 15–19 who have been impacted the juvenile justice system within the past 12 months, our evidence-based model blends hands-on workforce training with comprehensive wraparound services.

Our voluntary internship program offers youth real-world job experience within a casually upscale restaurant, paired with individualized support to help them develop skills, build stability and gain confidence for long-term success.
To participate in the program, you must complete an application. 

A young person must complete the application themselves. Referring partners, family members, educators and other trusted adults are encouraged to support youth throughout the process but should not complete the application on their behalf.

Program eligibility and readiness requirements include:

• Ability to complete the application independently
  • Personal impact of the juvenile justice system in the past 12 months. This can include individuals currently undergoing the judicial process (pre-adjudication), those already adjudicated (under juvenile probation supervision), and those who have experienced contact with the justice system (e.g., a district magistrate or law enforcement engagement, but without formal charges).
• Access to required work readiness documents (photo ID, birth certificate and Social Security card) and a valid work permit for youth under 18
• Current school enrollment is required, unless the applicant is a high school graduate.
