ROKEISHA BRYANT

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mrs. Bryant is a passionate advocate for youth and families. She believes in the transformative power of amplifying the voice of marginalized populations to advance wellbeing and inspire action.

Before joining Café Momentum Nashville as the Inaugural Executive Director, Mrs. Bryant worked at the Oasis Center for 14 years. She received her B.S. from Tennessee State University and her M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University Peabody College.

She is a recipient of the Tennessee State University Community Partner of the Year Award, the Oasis Center Roy Hutton Vision in Action Award, and was nominated for the Nashville Emerging Leader Award.

Chef Star Maye

CHEF DE CUISINE

Star Maye grew up in small-town Alabama and as a child, she enjoyed cooking soul food with her grandmother. From her early years, she realized that she had a talent and a passion in the kitchen. Maye has over 20 years of culinary experience and has since worked her way to becoming the Executive Chef in Nashville, TN.

In June of 2022, Maye is released her first cookbook on Amazon Books. The self-published book reflects on her personal journey through the culinary industry as a black, LGBTQ+ woman and the stories behind some of her favorite dishes. It was released on June 23, 2022. A portion of the proceeds have gone directly to supporting The Trevor Project.

Star Maye’s extensive resume goes far beyond the kitchen. She is a mother, a chef and a U.S. Navy veteran.

TERI SLOAN

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

A Middle Tennessee native, Teri loves spending her days supporting transformative impact in her home community. Prior to joining Café Momentum Nashville as Director of Development, she spent seven years with The Nashville Food Project, seeing first-hand the power of food and culinary experience to change lives. 

Teri earned her B.S. in Advertising from Middle Tennessee State University and her M.Ed. in Nonprofit Leadership from Belmont University. Teri, her husband Adam and son James live in East Nashville, where she loves cooking and spending time with friends and family over delicious food.

KENDALL FORD, MSW

PROGRAM MANAGER

Kendall Ford is a seasoned Program Manager with a rich background in social work and therapy. Her professional journey spans across substance abuse clinics, schools, and in-home programs. Passionate about fostering growth and resilience in young people, Kendall remains dedicated to helping them thrive through challenges, tapping into her profound expertise in the field.
