Café Momentum’s flagship location is in Dallas, Texas. We’re an award-winning restaurant and culinary training facility. We aim to transform young lives by equipping our community’s justice-involved youth with life skills, education and employment opportunities to help them achieve their full potential. In building Café Momentum, our primary goal is to build a sustainable model that provides justice-impacted youth (ages 15-19) with the holistic support they need to TRULY THRIVE.
Our restaurant is equal parts dining room and classroom: While our Interns are working on providing thoughtful dishes with top-notch service, they’re also learning that they can (and will) rise to whatever level of expectation is set for them. While you’re enjoying the results of their hard work and determination, you’re also sending them a message that you believe in them. The Café Momentum experience proves that something as simple as breaking bread can change the lives of our community’s most marginalized youth.
The cuisine of Café Momentum shares a common standard: locally sourced, seasonal, farm-to-table and chef-driven. Because our concepts are built to meet the expressed interest of the community we serve, our menus are regionally-inspired – sourcing produce and ingredients from local farms and purveyors.
Our flagship location is consistently named one of the top restaurants in Dallas, with a seasonal New American menu that is inspired by the more than 20 local farms and ranches that support our mission. Our chefs and Interns take pride in curing our own charcuterie, culturing and aging our own cheeses and fermenting our own vinegars. However fancy we tend to get with our ingredients, we are still most known for our smoked fried chicken, a favorite amongst our regulars.
In 2016, Café Momentum’s Momentum Society was created when a group of community leaders and social entrepreneurs joined forces to Eat. Drink. And Change Lives. With an annual gift of $5,000 or greater, this distinguished group of generous donors exemplifies what collective community leadership can achieve. As a member of the Momentum Society, you have exclusive access to events and dinners that personally connect you to the mission and the lives you are changing – you walk away with a full belly and a full heart.
