Calling all parents & guardians!
Family Alliance Movement (FAM)
Café Momentum's Family Alliance Movement (FAM) is a virtual series designed to educate, inform and support parents and guardians of justice-involved youth.

NOVEMBER 25 | ARRIVE ALIVE
This session will explore law enforcement interactions with teens and young people. Parents will be educated on how to help their teen navigate high-risk stops safely, as well as when and what to say if their teen is arrested or detained by law enforcement. This session will explore how to respectfully and adequately invoke your rights, in an effort to ensure our young people always “Arrive alive.”
Danielle Simpson is a fierce and compassionate advocate for youth in Georgia’s justice system. Her journey into juvenile advocacy began with a personal tragedy. That moment ignited a deep and lasting commitment to fight for young people who are too often misunderstood, underserved, and over-penalized. Over the years, Danielle has built a career grounded in the belief that every child deserves a chance—not just in the courtroom, but in life. She has held key roles across the state of Georgia, where her leadership has shaped how communities, courts, and schools respond to youth in crisis. From directing community engagement efforts in Fulton County to developing intervention programs as Deputy Chief of the Juvenile Division in Douglas County, Danielle’s work has consistently centered on restoring dignity and opportunity to justice-involved youth. Through her work with the Truancy Intervention Project and the Safety Valve Project, she tackled the school-to-prison pipeline head-on, advocating for educational equity and early intervention. Now serving as a Senior Staff Attorney with the Georgia Public Defender Council, Danielle continues to stand alongside young people, ensuring they are heard, defended, and empowered. Her advocacy is not just legal—it’s personal, purposeful, and deeply rooted in hope. Danielle is driven by one mission: to make Georgia a place where every child has the support to grow, thrive, and be seen.

DECEMBER 17 | HEALING CIRCLE & GOAL SETTING
This session will explore the importance of self-care, wellness, and emotional management. Parents will engage in a goal-setting session highlighting both personal and parental goals in alignment with the mission and movement of FAM.
