The Revival Dinner: A Joint Fundraiser for Cafe Momentum & The Sow Project

Chefs Ben Vaughn and Chad Houser co-host a dinner fundraiser at Café Momentum Atlanta featuring an Edna Lewis-inspired menu

Some meals do more than feed you. They gather you.

This July, Café Momentum Atlanta and The Sow Project invite you to The Revival Dinner — a family-style feast rooted in the legacy of Edna Lewis and the belief that kitchens change lives. Inspired by Lewis’ The Taste of Country Cooking, the evening’s menu was crafted by Chefs Chad Houser and Ben Vaughn: cheese straws and biscuits to start, followed by fried chicken, hoppin’ john, simmered greens with cornmeal dumplings, breakfast shrimp for dinner and corn pudding served the way it was meant to be: at a long table, passed hand to hand.

But the food is only part of the story.

Alongside Houser and Vaughn, Café Momentum Atlanta interns and youth from The Sow Project cook and work front- and back-of-house together, a shared table built on a shared purpose.

Every ticket supports workforce development and culinary training programs at both organizations, investing directly in the futures of young people in Georgia.

About Café Momentum Atlanta: Café Momentum’s mission is to transform young lives by equipping our community’s justice-involved youth with life skills, education and employment opportunities to help them achieve their full potential.

About the Sow Project: The Center of Culinary Cultivation’s Sow Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Memphis, Tennessee, and serving communities in Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi. As an organization rooted in care, equity, and opportunity, Sow Project is built to break a system that leaves people out.
