JOIN US AS WE WRITE A RECIPE FOR CHANGE IN HOUSTON

Café Momentum is a non-profit restaurant and professional training facility in the heart of downtown Dallas, which provides a 12-month paid post-release internship program for young men and women coming out of juvenile detention. To date, over 800 interns have entered Café Momentum’s doors and accessed employment, life skills training, and wraparound care — thereby increasing employability and long-term contributions to the community.

Café Momentum, created by noted Dallas chef and restaurateur Chad Houser, got its start as a series of monthly pop-up dinners. These pop-up dinners were effective in raising money and awareness for the mission while also providing the notable benefit of breaking down stereotypes the Dallas community had toward young people in detention.

In 2019, with the support of Stand Together, Café Momentum set out to begin building programs nationwide and launched Momentum Advisory Collective. Momentum Advisory Collective is set to become the parent company of Café Momentum, as well as all future restaurant program initiatives.

Momentum Advisory Collective and Stand Together are partnering to launch a series of monthly pop-up dinners beginning April 5, 2020 in Houston. The ultimate vision is to bring Momentum on Main to Houston permanently, providing the youth and community with a proven program and dining experience that resonates with an entire community.

By dining with us for the evening, our dinner guests provide hope, confidence, and motivation – encouraging Harris County’s most marginalized youth to achieve their full potential.
